Spring Break 2014 - Lake Bob Sandlin State Park

Spring Break is always a favorite time for camping in our family, but this year it came when we needed it most. I am very thankful for the time we had to gather together with the kids and let them work through their emotions while dealing with the loss of their Marme.

The first morning it was just our family and one extra, so we took a day trip to another State Park we hope to camp at soon.

We took the time to hunt the Geocache that was hidden there, plus a few others.

 We found it!

Ali found a paddle boat with glitter.

On the way back to our camp, we had Craig drop us off at a cemetery that had three caches hidden inside. We sent him off for groceries.

That evening more of our friends arrived.

Down time with a book. this year, the kids moved into their own tents. Let's just say Alison's tent is much neater than the boy's tent.

 Breakfast burritos.

All of the boys decided to move in with Patrick.

Traditional Birthday cupcakes for Alison. We always camp for her birthday.

The 4th boy in under the leaves to make the couch.

Craig is the only one I share my hammock with.

More Geocaching.

We sent off our Travel Bug, The Travel Duck.

New camping recipe, Carnitas.

Camping Doughnuts.

I was able to catch 4 out of the 6 kids.

Watching the radar for the storm, we were hopeful that it would pass us over.

 Being silly in the rain.

We had to move dinner indoors.

The morning after the storm.
